Week of March 21: Essie, Smokin' Hot

I couldn't resist. After the disaster that was lilac, I went for tried and true. Back to Smokin' Hot and I am already feeling better about myself. Since these tooties walked all over creation the past few weeks, I also treated myself to a fancy pedicure. She took out the razor, which I am pretty sure it outlawed in the state of New York, but who am I to bring up such things as like, you know, the law when the woman is rubbing my feet and I am literally in ecstasy? I would say that no matter what, I am still getting the better end of the deal.

Lurves it.

Week of March 7: Essie, Lilacism/St. Lucia Lilac

I am a bit late on this post, but I had big things going on. Like a trip to Italy, duh! Anyway, no picture for this post as I was a polish rebel this week and made my own shizz up. Serves me well because it was horrible. Two shades of lilac. I must have been temporarily insane, soooo not my style. I look like an Easter egg and it's horrendous. Don't want to talk about it. Back to dark colors for the next mani.

Untitled

Most of the time I think my family is made up of weirdos ... I think of myself as a weirdo too, so it's not like I don't understand where I came from. At this particular moment, I don't think of my family as weirdos, but as kind of amazing. It's too much to blog about, and contrary to popular belief, some things are just too sacred to share on the Interwebs.

So, at any rate, in the words of my main man, Ice Cube, today was a good day.

Week of Feb 28: Essie, Smokin' Hot

Holy balls. I found my new favorite color. I don't know how I overlooked it before. I did some research and it was Winter '10, so I guess I am not too out of the loop, but dang, I feel like I've been missing out all season! It's right up my alley, and after last weeks debacle of a color, I needed to go with something a little bit more 'me.' I almost didn't pick it, I had another Essie color ready to go, Hot Coco, but I saw a gal with this bottle and said, 'Yo, let me get up on that when you is finished.' Just like that, actually.

Typically I don't really speak in public, especially to strangers, but I just had to in this case. Nails are short, square and round around the edges. Sissy calls this shape 'squoval' - kind of ridickle, but it is pretty accurate. Smokin' Hot is just perfect - I am definitely going to be hitting it really hard. It might even replace my other favorite Essie color, Over the Top for a while. Too bad I have nothing going on this weekend, these nails should be gripping dirty Ketel One martinis for hours on end.

Zumba

After a few weeks of asking/begging my bestie to join me at a Zumba class, she finally did. It was the first time for the both of us and we were a little apprehensive because one: we are white girls with little to no rhythm and two: exercising, in general, isn't our strong suit. For a gal 'on the program,' any type of movement means more yummy food for me and I am A-OK with that.

I told my bestie that we had to keep an open mind and that she would be wowed by my amazing dance moves. We met the teacher and I must say that she was in amazing shape. There were only four other gals in the class and they couldn't have been more welcoming to us. Definitely the kind of people that I want in a class with me, especially if I am shaking my rumper and looking like a fool. One of the gals lost 25 pounds just by doing Zumba. The teacher says another girl has really slimmed down although she didn't know how much she had lost. I was already intrigued. Besides that fact that I had no idea what to do with my feet, and when we had to put on 'jingle skirts,' the class went by without much fanfare.

After class we had a nice sushi dinner (which was fab), but the real highlight of the whole evening was when I calculated my points. Thirteen ... 13!!! points for 50 minutes of my evening!! I could eat just about anything I want! If this is legit, I think I might make Zumba my full time job.

Sign me up ... I'll be jingle jangling/dancing/looking like a lunatic all over this town if this shizzz works.
