Week of Feb 21: OPI, Can You Dig It

This week I got a purply color. I must say that I was in desperate need of a manicure (it had been over a week) and in even more desperate need of a pedicure. I don't know if Manhattan is the hardest terrain in the world, but walking this city leaves my feet looking a real mess. And in the winter, forget about it. As disgusting as it was, the lady really went after these poor feet. I am convinced that I went from a size 8 to a 7 based on the sheer amount of time she spent buffing.

Anyway I am not really feeling this purple. To be honest, I don't know why I picked it. Not really my style, but perhaps I am trying to channel spring? At any rate, I only have to deal with it for a week. As for the toes ... I am going to just have to make due. For a $65 pedicure, this polish is staying on for a while.

Kanye West - All of the Lights

Honestly, I love Kanye West. Like totally love him. Want to hang out and bedazzle our leather jackets kind of love. I respect him as an artist, entertainer, person and the such. When My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy came out, I downloaded that shizz so fast and proceed to learn the words to every song that hadn't already come out on G.O.O.D. Friday.

Anywho, All of the Lights is by far one of my favorite jams. Rihanna, Justin Vernon, and Kid Cudi. Plus it was directed by Hype Williams. Can you even go wrong? I think not. So I saw the video this morning and it did not disappoint. But I couldn't get the similarities between All of the Lights and the first video for Cee-Lo Green's Fuck You and an awesome video from S. Carey In the Dirt out of my mind. (FYI - S. Carey is/was part of Bon Iver)

I doubt that I am the only one to say this. It's interesting if nothing else, and you can see for yourself below.

At any rate, Kanye is amazing. This song is perfect and I can't wait to see what else he is capable of.

Week of Feb 7: OPI, Lincoln Park at Midnight

I am a huge fan of dark colors. Maybe it's because super pale shades of pink and ruby reds make feel too girly. Dark says, 'look at me, I am SOOOO edgy.' Typically my go to dark is Lincoln Park After Dark. Standard when I am looking for an almost-black. You can imagine how excited I was when I saw it's sister shade, Lincoln Park at Midnight. Uh-mazing. More purple-ly and shimmery than it's darker counterpart. Definite recommendation, and this way, maybe, JUST MAYBE, I can be a bit more ladylike.

Color Me Bad ...

I am going start posting about my choice of mani color. I know this is riveting information and you all have been clamoring to know what yours truly has selected as my weekly hue. Consider this a gift from me to you ...

Week of Jan 31: OPI, Ski Teal We Drop
I am not a skier, or a winter sports person by any means, but this color is making me reconsider. Definitely for short nails and I would say of the rounder shape. Mine are a little long at the moment, so I am sure I will be beside myself in about 5 or 6 days because I will have blue talons, but I am digging them for the time being.
